Ray Wilkinson

As the Chief Executive of an Arms Length Body of the MOD Ray has multiple responsibilities including the management of a Military estate of some 200 sites. He has spent most of his civilian career in operations management and business performance improvement.

He has over twenty years of experience serving on numerous third sector voluntary boards including Working with Words, a Social Enterprise producing accessible information for people with learning difficulties, the Sir William Boreman Trust, a grant making trust, and MCCH Society, a social care provider for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions.

Delia Beddis

Delia is currently a Partner at Newbridge Advisors LLP, specialising in project and development management. She is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. In her last role she was Head of Development at the London Legacy Development Corporation, with responsibility for major capital development projects on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Delia has over ten years’ experience in the property, regeneration and finance sectors including a role as a Financial Analyst at the Royal Bank of Canada providing advice to major construction companies, government bodies and Housing Associations. Delia started her career at English Partnerships, where she completed the Graduate Development Programme after receiving an MA in Geography from the University of Edinburgh.

Leonard Stevens

Len’s career in finance has encompassed a wide range of sectors from bio-science, shipping, entertainment and banking through to information technology and the motor industry. From his extensive background in internal, management and systems audit, along with compliance and corporate governance, he now concentrates on providing and managing ethical investment in specialist social enterprises.

Len is a trustee and board member of Zetetick Housing and, along with other directorships, is a non-executive director of Frontier Support Services Ltd.

With two school-age sons, Len’s ‘spare’ time and outside interests are centred around his ever-tolerant partner, the two boys, a sea-going motor-boat and a small collection of classic Citroens.

Stuart Cakebread

Stuart has practised as a commercial and public law barrister in London for over 25 years and is a member of Selborne Chambers. He brings to the charity a wide knowledge of many of the legal issues which we have regularly to address. He was formerly a councillor in Lambeth and so has direct experience of the practical problems which can arise in the context of an independent body providing services in a local authority context.

In his spare time he rides horses and runs a garden railway.

Roger Lomax

Roger Lomax is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in company finance and governance. He worked at the Bank of England for 12 years and from 1983 to 1987 headed its Industrial Finance Division with responsibility for overseeing the financial health of the corporate sector including intervening to resolve cases of financial difficulty.

For the next 17 years he headed the corporate finance function in a major UK multinational company where his main responsibility was negotiating large and complex merger and acquisition transactions. He has held a number of Board positions including Commonwealth Development Finance Company, BAT International Finance plc and Tobacco Insurance Company in the private sector, and in the voluntary sector, Look Ahead Housing and Care, a large special needs housing association and Alexandra Rose Charities. He is also Treasurer of Westminster House Youth Club based in Peckham.
